Brief description

We’re looking for someone with excellent organisation and communication skills who would like the opportunity to join our Redbrick Arrears Team. If you have previous experience in property management or arrears collection this role could be perfect for you!

Purpose of the role

To proactively recover tenant rent arrears, working within the current regulatory framework and communicating with tenants, managing agents and authorised third parties. This role will involve identifying and helping customers who may be experiencing financial difficulty.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Contact managing agents to monitor their collection activity
  • Review existing rent schedules, liaise with internal teams to establish action required.
  • Agree suitable payment arrangements with tenant or the managing agent.
  • Monitor agreed arrangements to ensure compliance
  • In the absence of payment or an arrangement escalating to possession proceedings.
  • Prepare documentation and instruct solicitors
  • Have a wider appreciation of the impact of the arrears team’s performance on the receivership process
  • Monitor the progress of litigation to vacant possession
  • Keep effective records in line with best practice
  • Work daily event queues, imaging and scanning of documents as required.
  • Assist wider team with incoming calls


  • Ability to prioritise workloads, good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Have the knowledge and confidence to assist colleagues where necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a good knowledge of the legal framework and requirements around collecting arrears
  • An in-depth understanding of the receiver of rent process
  • Ability to analyse situations and create appropriate solutions
  • Works effectively with colleagues both within the department and the wider group.
  • Flexible approach to working hours to meet business demands.
  • Good knowledge of Aries and MS office applications

Qualifications and experience

Grade C or above GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

Previous experience in a collections or customer focused role would be an advantage.

Working hours

25 to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Relevant training will be provided.
