Macmillan Coffee Morning sees Paragon Banking Group raise over £5,000 for charity

Staff at Paragon Banking Group took part in Macmillan’s Coffee Morning event, raising over £5,000 for Macmillan to provide support for those impacted by cancer.

Staff at the Solihull-headquartered financial services firm embarked on ‘Paragon’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ as part of fundraising efforts for the business’ chosen charity of the year.

Due to the restrictions in place and with most staff currently working from home, virtual coffee mornings were held across Paragon, with some socially distanced events taking part in offices where possible. Teams shared coffee, enjoyed cake and took part in quizzes, with donations made to the charity.

A number of Paragon’s Directors and Managers also took part in the fundraising efforts, sharing videos of themselves getting “pied” to support the coffee morning.

Jennie Smith, Chair of the Charity Committee at Paragon, said: “It was fantastic to see so many staff getting involved, whether virtually or in a socially distanced setting. We’re really glad that we are able to support such an important cause that impacts so many people and look forward to continuing our fundraising activities throughout the rest of the year.”

Macmillan is Paragon’s chosen company charity for 2020 and has a key role supporting cancer patients and their families. Paragon employees continue to support the charity via payroll donations in addition to fundraising efforts.
