Application FAQs

Searching for a vacancy

Can I search for a role in a particular field or location?

You can search our vacancies using keywords, including the type of role you’re looking for, and by location. You can also filter the jobs that display to select which locations and types of role suit you best.

Does Paragon offer apprenticeships, internships or a graduate training programme?

We offer a wide range of apprenticeships for people of all ages.

We also offer year-long internships, principally aimed at students looking to complete a year in industry placement as part of their studies and those who have just completed their course.

While we are often looking for graduates, we don’t offer a tailored graduate training programme.

You can search for all these types of vacancy using the keyword search. If nothing is available currently, please register for job alerts.

If there are no roles that I can apply for right now, can I register for alerts or notifications?

Yes. Simply register and we’ll send you an email when a suitable role comes up.

Applying for a role

How do I apply for a role?

If you haven’t already registered with us, when you click to apply, we’ll ask you to Create a new profile, explain our Data privacy policy and take you to CV upload.

Can I apply for more than one role?

Yes. You can apply for multiple roles once you’ve registered with us and uploaded your CV.

Uploading your CV

What format should I upload my CV in?

Please upload your CV in Word format. Our system will then auto-populate the application by pulling the relevant data from your CV. Please don’t use columns or text boxes on your CV. The best way to structure you CV is by separating information into paragraphs.

Amending your profile

Can I amend my profile after I’ve created it to add new information?

Yes, you can log in at any time to edit your details. Just be sure to save your changes before exiting the page.

How long will you keep my details on file for?

We’ll keep your details for five months, before checking back with you to make sure you still want to be part of our talent network. If we don’t hear back from you within a month, your details will be deleted. Don’t worry, you can always re-register in the future.

Additional information and pre-employment checks

What additional information will I need to provide?

During the application process, we’ll ask you for some information to help us check your identity. As a UK bank, we also need to do some additional checks, but we’ll only ask for the supporting information for these checks, when we really need it.

Checking the status of your application

How will I know that you’ve received my application?

You will receive a confirmation of application email. If you have started an application and haven’t completed it, we will email you to check if you want to complete it.

How can I check the status of my application?

You can check the status of your application by logging into Your profile at any time. This will show you which positions that you’ve applied for and which stage your application has reached.

Booking an interview

I’ve been offered an interview. How do I arrange / change the time?

When you log in, you can book a time slot to suit you. The times available will be at least 24 hours ahead, to give you and the hiring manager time to prepare for the interview.

I’m trying to book a time slot for my interview, but there are no slots available. What should I do?

Don’t worry. Email [email protected] and they’ll ask the hiring manager to make more time available.

Telephone and video interviews

I’ve been asked to take part in a telephone / video interview. What should I expect?

Before inviting you to visit us for an interview, we often arrange a telephone or video interview first. At this stage, we usually ask you to take us through your CV so we can find out a bit more about your skills and experience and learn what you’re looking for in your next role.

Face-to-face interviews

I’ve been invited to visit you for an interview. What should I expect?

Great! We’re really looking forward to meeting you. Interviews can vary but most of our interviews will include core questions about your skills and competencies. Sometimes we might ask you to do a work-based assessment but, if this is the case, we’ll always let you know when we invite you to interview.

For some roles, we might also ask you to come back for a second interview so that other members of the team can meet you too.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

It’s best to come prepared, so we would always encourage you to bring your CV, cover letter, contact details for your references and your passport. For some roles, we may also ask you to prepare and bring along an assessment or a portfolio of you work.

Assessment centres

I’m applying for an internship and I’ve been asked to attend an assessment centre. What’s involved?

Your day will be split into three parts: a group task, an interview and then a discussion about the pre-assessment you will have been asked to complete and send in ahead of time.

There will be a handful of participants on the assessment day and you will get to meet various people in the department.

Lunch will be provided and, if we can, we like to show you where you’ll be working so you can meet the team.

Offer stage

I’ve been successful, when will I receive my contract?

Congratulations! Our recruitment team will call you to confirm the finer details and complete any outstanding pre-employment checks. They’ll ask you for a start date and then we’ll send you the contract to review and sign. Once you’ve returned the signed contract, we’ll provide you with all the information you need to prepare for your first day.

If you have any further questions at the stage, please email [email protected]

When will you get in touch with the references I’ve provided?

We usually contact the references you’ve given us after you’ve started, during your probation period.

Living and working in the UK

Do I need the unrestricted right to work in the UK?
