For the last four years, I’ve been working as a Learning and Development Business Partner. I love the diversity of my role and working with different stakeholders from across the Group to support them in achieving their business goals.

My role involves supporting and developing leaders through the design and delivery of various management development programmes, coaching and mentoring solutions.

I also work closely with the HR Business Partners to deliver strategy that creates an internal pool of talent and strengthens future succession planning.

I’ve recently been selected to join the Committee for Paragon’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Network, another subject that I’m very passionate about.

I work in Quality Monitoring in the New Business area of Mortgage Lending, making sure our Support Services and Mortgage Underwriting teams provide a high standard of support to customers.

As a responsible lender and a regulated business, Paragon is committed to delivering good outcomes for its customers and the Quality Monitoring team is a vital link in the chain, encouraging best practice, ensuring consistency and supporting continuous improvement.

Customer service skills, a keen eye for detail and good analytical and decision-making skills are very transferable and, provided you’re willing to learn, you can take those skills and develop yourself in a new direction at Paragon.

As an Operational Risk Manager, I’m lucky to enjoy a Group-wide perspective of the business and to work with colleagues from all our different divisions.

I’m currently involved in a project to implement an enhanced operational risk framework for the Group, helping to redefine our policies and supporting our business units as they implement and embed the changes.

Paragon’s been incredibly encouraging, giving me access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities to help me build my career here. As a result, I’ve been able to progress through a series of operational roles and into my current position as a risk specialist.

I’ve been involved in a wide range of digital design projects since joining Paragon in 2017, from new product releases for our savings customers to advanced application portals for our lending intermediaries and customers.

The projects vary widely in scope and size, but they all involve working closely with colleagues from across the business to advance Paragon’s digital capability and help us reach a wider audience, both more efficiently and more effectively.
