Our strong and unique culture is underpinned by eight essential values. These values guide how we work together to achieve our goals and let our customers know what to expect when they do business with us. We believe that living our values helps us succeed in fulfilling our purpose.

Whether we’re working with customers or colleagues, it’s important to be fair. For example, if you can see that a customer is facing difficulties, don’t pre-judge what might be happening. Instead, make sure that you listen, show empathy and understanding and explore a range of different ways to move forward.

Integrity is all about building trust and you can only do that if you’re honest to yourself as well as others. We need to be true to our values and deliver on our promises, gain respect by acting in the best interest of others.  Take feedback on board so that we’re continually improving our service to customers and developing ourselves the best we can.

Respect means listening to our people and our customers and making sure that we incorporate their viewpoint into our thinking. If I think of my own team, they’re the ones who are closest to the customer so it’s essential that I listen to what they’re telling me, take their ideas on board and make sure we explore them fully.

I link commitment very closely to customer service. To me, it means putting myself in the customer’s shoes and making sure the customer gets a high level of service. Commitment to great customer service is one of the most important ways that we can help them to achieve their goals.
