Brief description

Join a busy FTSE 250 company secretarial department and help provide company secretarial and board support. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team and gain experience through a broad variety of responsibilities. You will be committed to becoming a company secretarial professional and this role will provide opportunity in depth to developing and expanding your core company secretarial skills. You will have a strong attention to detail and excellent communication abilities.

Purpose of the role

Providing extensive board, governance and administrative support to the Company Secretary and other members of the Company Secretariat team. The role includes assisting with the board meeting and wider governance processes across the whole spectrum of company secretarial activities.

Duties & responsibilities
Skills
  • Planning and arranging Board and Committee meetings
  • Preparing meeting agendas, circulating papers electronically via Diligent
  • Governance management including provision of Companies House submissions, releasing of Stock Exchange announcements, updating of statutory records and other core company secretarial processes
  • Administrative support including:  maintaining diaries, booking travel and accommodation, handling expenses, updating Company Secretariat Business Recovery Plan etc.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a broad range of internal/external stakeholders
  • Office management for Company Secretariat department
  • Holding/willing to work towards a company secretarial or other relevant qualification is desirable
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information professionally and discretely
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • First class verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to relate well to people at all levels
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
  • Efficient and accurate with great attention to detail
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and the confidence to learn new business software applications as required. Experience of working in a listed Secretariat and knowledge of Diligent/ Boardpad would be useful

Qualifications and experience

Must hold/be willing to work towards a qualification from the ICSA or equivalent. Previous experience in working in a company secretarial/legal/compliance or finance role is essential.

Working hours

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch).

Relevant training will be provided.
