Brief description

The Test Analyst will be responsible for the planning, creation and execution of test scripts in line with the requirements, on a project by project basis. Ensuring that the test scripts generated are effective in covering the functional and non-functional requirements prior to production deployment. Raising any defects appropriately and updating the team in the form of test reports.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in the finance sector, testing end to end solutions. They will also have demonstrated experience of testing in an agile environment, combined with a strong technical test related background.

Purpose of the role

Responsibility for testing on a project to ensure that the requirements are met with the test scripts that are generated. Taking into account the different types of testing and ensure the solution meets the business needs.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Analysing and designing test scenarios which most effectively prove the requirements of the business
  • Contribute to the development of user stories by translating user stories into highly specified test cases
  • Prepare and execute the test scripts and report on their progress and raise defects for areas not functioning as designed
  • Analyse the internal structure of the system in enough detail to meet the expected quality
  • Evaluate the system in terms of non-functional attributes, e.g. performance and reliability
  • Working closely with colleagues, developers, testers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Develop system and regression tests that ensure the delivered solution will meet its agreed objectives and deadlines
  • Contributing to projects in a range of different areas as required e.g. resolving design issues, analyzing test feedback, QA
  • Contribute to SAFe Agile ceremonies, PI Planning, Backlog refinement, Sprint Demo and Retrospectives. Also Test Script reviews
  • Mentoring of less experienced team members
  • Any AS400/ IBMi / iSeries / Power 7 / IBM Integrated (Green on Black) DB2 experience will be very beneficial
  • Experience in Automated Testing, ideally with Selenium preferred

  • Ability and willingness to provide technical leadership
  • SQL DB2, Outsystems, SharePoint, Visual Studio for Teams
  • Selenium, Performance Testing with JMeter beneficial

Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate will have a solid testing background, including ISTQB Foundation certificate in software testing. Must have an understanding of the software development lifecycle in an agile methodology and experience with Selenium preferred. You will have strong proven customer focussed experience.

Working hours

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch).

Training

Relevant training will be provided.
